On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the purpose is to provide understanding and rationale of the Charter, in particular the Vision and Mission Statement.
Vision Statement: Building the Solid Foundation
The thoughts of the Board of Trustees was to create a vision statement that focuses on the child that will also encompass their whanau and community and the contribution of the school to these elements. The Vision Statement ‘Building the Solid Foundation” not only addressed the primary objective of learning needs but also considered the whole makeup of the child in preparation for their continued journey in life, through the intermediate/secondary school, adolescence and adulthood— to be strong within themselves, to make good choices and decisions, to respect and love all people, to have sound values and principles, to enjoy and love life and so on. These cannot be achieved without that solid foundation.
There are a lot of negative influences in the world and ‘Building the Solid Foundation’ creates the basis to stand strong despite whatever situation should cross their path.
