Term 2 has seen some wonderful growth in our tamariki in Room 1 as they settle into school and learning routines. I am proud of our little ones who have a great attitude, enjoy learning and who take pride in their achievements. They have developed confidence in their ability and are willing to take risks in their learning, maybe make a mistake or two but they know that is ok, and we can learn from the mistake. This is especially so in their learning journey.
The Tamariki get along very well and treat all of their friends with respect.
-
Our guiding principles for the classroom are:
-
We are all friends in Room 1.
-
Our hands are for helping, not for hurting.
-
We want everyone to be safe and happy at school.
The tamariki welcome and support new friends as they arrive in our class, encouraging them to join in and become sensible learners with us.
Thank you for your support and encouragement of our tamariki, please remember the importance of daily reading with, to and by the children and encourage maths opportunities in your daily activities. Remind your child each day to bring their book bag back to school – it is the child’s responsibility but could parents please check each night for the reading book and any notices that may have been sent home.

Next term is going to be just as interesting as this term. Following on from our Stardome trip, we have planned a trip to the zoo. Details will be posted early in the new term. New sports games will be introduced and there could also be other community events outside of school that will be incorporated into our programme.
